Six Rinnai on-demand units save laundry-owner money, space, and much more.

"I currently own and operate three Garden Island Cleaners — one in Old Town and two in Augusta. I have a conventional gas-fired hot water heating system in both my Old Town store and one store in Augusta, located on Bangor Street. The second laundry in Augusta was completed in mid-2002, with a Rinnai Continuum Endless Hot Water System installed.

"I am able to directly compare the hot water heating costs, conveniences, and efficiencies in my two Augusta stores. Both operate in the same service district areas, so I have a direct comparison between the stores.

"The Rinnai Continuum Endless Hot Water System recently installed in my second Augusta store offers many advantages that I do not have in my other stores, as follows:

  • The Continuum hot water heating units are wall-mounted, thereby not taking valuable, expensive floor area.
  • With the six (6) units currently installed, hot water is heated only as needed, thereby operating at a significant savings over conventional heat-and-store units that I have in my other two stores. Although I do not yet have a full year of experience in the new store, I expect significant savings.
  • Hot water is always available, always tempered properly, and heated only as used. The laundries are closed 10 hours per day, so hot water is not being heated when not needed.
  • The Continuum units are safe — they do not require pilot lights as they operate on electronic ignition, and are extremely quiet while operating."
